The Wheel Management System software is used for managing wheel data collected from thirdparty hardware vendors like ØDS-Caltronic A/S (wheelflat detection), Imagemap (wheel profile measurement) and from AVI systems.

The reason for installing a Wheel Management System is to be alerted early about wheel anormalities and thereby reduce wheel maintenance costs. A secondary reason is to maximise the comfort for the passengers and minimize the environmental impact from the noise level generated by freight and high-speed trains.
