OracleJDeveloperWe are very experienced in the use of Oracle JDeveloper IDE and the associated libraries such as ADF BC4J, Toplink, ADF JSF. ADF BC4JWe have a thorough experience with Oracle Application Development Framework especially Business Components for Java. EMERCOS and its partners have a great experience in working with Oracle databases and the associated tools for administration and system development. Already back in the 80ties we worked mostly with PL/SQL, Oracle forms, Oracle reports and used Pro*C for accessing the Oracle databases from our numerous self-developed applications. During the 90ties OOAD became the trend and the Oracle access was done by encapsulating the Oracle Call Interface (OCI) in C++ wrapper classes (Data Access Object (DAO) pattern). Related to this we would like to recommend the Oracle Template Library (OTL) that can be found under otl.sourceforge.net. OTL was used among other for the development of an opensource tool that is useful for database administrators: Tora. Today we would mostly base a solution on techniques such as Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Toplink, BC4J or Hibernate as the persistance and business layer above the database. Apache Struts is good for making the controller part of the application and Swing or JSP/JSTL/JSF or XML/XSLT can be used for implementing the view part. This is known as a pattern called Model View Control (MVC). The Oracle Jdeveloper is perhaps not the most known IDE, but whenever you have spent the necessary time for learning the tool, it is a super tool for creating both Swing client application and web applications. EMERCOS has used JDeveloper for numerous projects and each time our customers are impressed with the swiftness and ease in reaching the goals. We are using the JDeveloper for the complete development lifecycle: modelling in UML, coding, debugging, testing, profiling, tuning and deployment. Except for development we have had the overall responsibility in several large development projects for Oracle installation, database design, tuning, backup strategies and surveillance. Especially the last bit is in thread with our other areas of experience: network management and SNMP. Oracle can be configured to be monitored by SNMP. The same for JBoss, Oracle or Weblogic application servers. See more about our experience in network management .
